
Pichai Sundararajan better known as Sundar Picha, is an Indian-American business executive. [6] He serves as the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. After making the move to the United States, Pichai earned an M.S. He earned a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. He also obtained an MBA from Wharton School of Pennsylvania. After a brief period at McKinsey and Co. as a management consultant Pichai was recruited by Google in 2004 to oversee the product management and innovation for several Google's clients products. These included ChromeOS and ChromeOS. He also managed Google Drive. Additionally he was later able to oversee the development of additional applications like Gmail as well as Google Maps. Pichai launched WebM in 2010 and then announced open-sourcing of the codec for video VP8 developed by Google. 2012 saw the debut of Chromebook. In 2013 Pichai added Android to the catalog of Google products that he was responsible for.
