
Rosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964, is an American choreographer and actress. Her breakthrough role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez's portrayal of Tina in Fearless (1993), earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her starring film roles since then include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her work in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has been in stage productions on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. The 18th season was the time she was also a cohost on ABC's talk show The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood.
